I am studying a Bachelor of Communication in Journalism with a Major in Politics and Government at the University of Canberra, due to graduate at the end of 2015. I have experience in researching, writing and recording journalism stories.
I’m employed in the Australian Public Service and have worked in a diverse number of positions such as policy, procurement, and executive and ministerial support. In October 2015 I am due to take part in a two week internship at the Department of Communications, where I will be assisting the Digital Communications branch with media management, communications support, and preparing and running a communications campaign for Stay Smart Online week.
Outside of work I have an active life through going to the gym, maintaining my Japanese language proficiency by translating Japanese manga, taking part in the video game modding community, and participating in community events particularly with the LGBT community.
My aim is to one day transition into a role directly related to communications whether inside the Australian Public Service or outside. This way I will be able to apply the skills and knowledge which I have obtained in my study at university, along with the professional work ethic and practices which I have developed throughout my years of employment.
